Oceana is a tax-exempt charitable organization
Oceana is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to achieving concrete, measurable improvements in the oceans’ ability to sustain life. Contributions to Oceana may be tax deductible under U.S. law because Oceana is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Oceana receives support from many sources
Oceana’s support comes from foundations, organizations and individuals in more than 150 countries. Oceana benefits not only from cash contributions, but also from generous in-kind contributions of goods and services. In 2005, these in-kind contributions have included the donated use of the Ranger catamaran to document threats to the oceans and solutions to them, pro bono professional services, free software and Internet services, telecommunications and other donated services.
