Oceana Welcomes Kroger and Harris Teeter to the Green List!

Both Kroger and Harris Teeter have decided to post the FDA advice about mercury and seafood in their stores.  In fact, as a direct response to our new report, Hold the Mercury, Harris Teeter told the Charlotte Morning News that they would begin posting signs at their seafood counters and has since given us their full committment.

Kroger is the second largest grocery chain in the nation, which means that many more people will have access to information about seafood safety when they shop for fish.  Now with Kroger and Harris Teeter, there are a total of over 5,500 grocery stores nationwide that are posting the FDA advice.  Oceana's Green List now accounts for almost 30% of the major market share of grocery companies.  Both of these companies have made the responsible decision to keep their customers informed.
