Both Kroger and Harris Teeter supermarket companies announced their stores will post the Food and Drug Administration advice about mercury in seafood. Adding both of these companies to Oceana's Green List nearly doubles the number of grocery stores posting the FDA advice nationwide. Read more about this important victory...
Oceana is calling on grocery stores to take a stand and protect their customers. The public has a right to know about the FDA mercury advice so Oceana is working to get signs posted at grocery store seafood counters with this advisory.
And this idea is catching on – Safeway, Whole Foods, Wild Oats, Trader Joe's, some Albertsons and now Kroger grocers are now posting the signs - but we still have a long way to go before all families have the benefit of such signs.

Oceana Congratulates Trader Joe's on its decision to require stores to post the FDA advice where seafood is sold. This decision places Trader Joe's among the leaders in the industry, and earns them recognition on Oceana's Green List.
Trader Joe's has been posting signs in some of its stores for over a year, ever since the publication of Oceana's report "Fair Warning." But Oceana continued to be concerned about many stores that did not have the signs, depriving shoppers of this important information. By posting this information in all stores, Trader Joe's is doing a tremendous service to its customers and the company will now make landfall securely on Oceana's Green List. Customers can now feel more secure in their seafood purchases while enjoying the unique TJ's grocery experience. Trader Joe's, You Look Good in Green!
