About the Recipients

The public has a right to know about contaminants in our food. For this reason, Oceana is honoring:

  • California Attorney General Bill Lockyer for his efforts to enforce Proposition 65, the state right to know law. Because of his work, grocery stores and restaurants in CA are required to post warning signs at the seafood counter. He is also working to get tuna companies to place warning labels on tuna cans.
  • Wild Oats for going a step beyond most grocery stores and posting signs in all their stores, nation-wide. View Sign (PDF)
